I went out yesterday to hit balls. It is starting to get cooler here in Florida. By cooler I mean in the high 60's!! Well, I did your drills. I did not think one thought about mechanics. 

Bang, bang, bang, shot after shot boring into the air dead straight. I think I am having an epiphany about the golf swing that I just haven't been ready for until now. The irony is that this revelation is one of simplicity.

I downloaded the instruction yesterday and practiced the full swing drills. On this past Monday I shot a 97. Today, four days later and one day of practice, I shot my best round ever, 81 with a double bogey seven on hole 18.

Ben ~ Your the best and I really appreciate the reply. I think you analysis is spot on and now that I think on it I feel my hands were at least 6 inches ahead of the ball at impact leaving my blade in all sorts of bad shape.

"Better Shots... Lower Scores... More Fun!"
I am not ready for the tour yet (senior tour, that is, I'm 53) but I have already begun to experience better shots, which has given me greater confidence and allowed me to relax more during a round of play. 

Last week I knocked 5 strokes off of my usual average. Not thinking about mechanics makes playing much more enjoyable. Really, how enjoyable is golf, if every time you swing you have to think about a hundred different things. 

I can tell you that not only is your technique liberating, it makes the game more fun. I am going to continue to work on the drills. I don't think you can ever say that you worked on them enough. I will let you know how my transformation continues to go.
